Every bed should have a bench... I took this photo a while back during a stay in Bay Harbor, Michigan with some friends. I was inspired by the Spring color palette of the beddings as well as the delicate turns on the legs on this bench. This photo makes me happy because it has reminded me of two things, how every masterbedroom deserves a bench and that Spring is just around the corner from us.
We were able to move into our new home about a week ago, and I was elated to reconnect with the furniture that's been isolated in storage for over 14 months! As we moved the contents out of the dark compact unit, I felt uplighted and free. The same feeling that the season of Spring gives us. We come out our of winter greys and start to wear those pops of color again. We take more walks, we add a little blush to our cheeks. Spring is almost here, where is your bench to start the day?

I chose Navy Blue
"When one door closes, another one opens." I've been saying this for over a decade now, but it seems like this week I have had to say it a few times to myself. A few months ago, I had the front door of our new construction home painted; Navy Blue. For the last year, my husband and I have taken on the home building process. While we haven't moved in yet, each time I drive by that door and see the Navy Blue color, I am hopeful it will happen soon enough. Navy Blue doors are a symbol of positive energy for all who enter them...just waiting on the keys to unlock our future together.
